Backups & your data
Download your records, restore an empty shop and work safely.
Download a backup
Open Shop settings → Download backup. This saves a JSON file containing your shop settings, customers, measurements, orders and payment records. Backups are available on Free and Premium. Store this file somewhere you control.
Restore into an empty shop
A restore is available only when the shop has no customers, measurements, orders or payments. In Shop settings, choose Restore backup and select a supported Threadbook JSON file. The current import limit is 900 KB and 1,000 records of each type, subject to your plan limits. Sample demo records cannot be imported as real shop records.
Know what is saved
Real workspace changes are saved online after you sign in. The sample workspace is separate: edits made in demo mode do not update your real shop. Backups are manual downloads, so download a fresh copy regularly.
Avoid overwriting newer work
If another tab has saved a newer version of your workspace, Threadbook rejects the stale update. Refresh the workspace, check the latest records and apply your change again. Keep one editing tab open when possible.
Keep access private
Each shop has one owner login. Tailor names do not create user accounts or grant access. Protect your password, sign out on shared devices and keep downloaded backups private because they contain customer information.
